Platform

Start where you are

CWS Platform does not require your company to be ready for the most advanced level. There are four maturity levels, and each one naturally creates the need for the next.

This is the Digital Maturity Roadmap: four levels activated over the same platform. There is no maturity prerequisite to begin, there is an entry point.

  1. Level 1

    Classic B2B Portal

Catalogue and checkout live, with pricing by customer profile.

    What leads to the next

The customer realises they need a seller.

  2. Level 2

    Seller Present

The portal gains a visible seller, with name, photo and a conversation channel.

    What leads to the next

The customer wants to give the seller autonomy.

  3. Level 3

    Governed Negotiation

The seller now negotiates inside the platform, with a real-time shared cart.

    What leads to the next

The customer wants to scale with AI.

  4. Level 4

    AI-Powered Trading

AI Agents operate over the same deterministic core, under Commerce Rules Engine rules.

    End of the progression

    There is no next level.

The four levels of the Digital Maturity Roadmap. Each level activates over the previous one, on the same platform.

The four levels, one by one

Each level delivers something on its own. What links it to the next is not a sale, it is a consequence of the operation.

Level 1 · Classic B2B Portal

Catalogue and checkout live, with pricing by customer profile. The buyer self-serves, with no active seller in the transaction. This is the digitalisation of reorder, usually the largest share of volume and the smallest share of the commercial team's added value.

What leads to the next

The customer realises they need a seller. Self-service handles reorder, and stops at the first technical question or the first non-standard order.

Level 2 · Seller Present

The portal gains a visible seller, with name, photo and a conversation channel. They help, guide and unblock, but do not yet negotiate inside the platform. This is the level that solves adoption before it solves governance, which is why it is usually underestimated.

What leads to the next

The customer wants to give the seller autonomy. Once the seller is present, it becomes clear they need to be able to concede something, and concessions start happening outside the system.

Level 3 · Governed Negotiation

The seller now negotiates inside the platform, with a real-time shared cart, Approval Workflows and conversation integrated into the transaction. The concession that used to happen by phone now carries a ceiling, an author and a justification. This is the level where margin stops leaking where nobody could see it.

What leads to the next

The customer wants to scale with AI. With rules made explicit and negotiation inside the system, there is for the first time a trustworthy context for an agent to consume.

Level 4 · AI-Powered Trading

AI Agents operate over the same deterministic core, under Commerce Rules Engine rules, with replenishment and purchase suggestions anticipating demand. The operation becomes a digital trading desk, and the seller moves from processing orders to deciding on exceptions.

End of the progression

There is no next level. What changes from here is the breadth of the ecosystem, not the architecture.

Layers, not packages

The levels are not packages you buy and discard. They are layers activated over the same platform, so what went live at Level 1 still holds at Level 4, with no rebuild and no migration. Smaller operations tend to enter at Level 1 and evolve; larger ones enter directly at Level 3 or 4. And the portal is included at every level.

Not sure which level you are at? A diagnostic conversation settles it.
